Megan Weinberg

Megan Weinberg is a Research Associate at the Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity at Yale University. She works with Dr. Jennifer Harris and the Marketing team to coordinate and implement various research initiatives focused on food marketing to children. Megan graduated from Marist College, earning a BA in Psychology and an MA in Community and Counseling Psychology. She has worked as a group therapist for substance abusers, and prior to joining the Rudd Center she served as Laboratory Director for the Center for the Advancement of Perioperative Health (CAPH) at the Yale School of Medicine. At CAPH, Megan helped to design, coordinate, and implement research focused on improving quality of care for pediatric surgery patients. This was accomplished through the incorporation of creative methods to reduce anxiety and pain (along with other maladaptive postoperative outcomes), and through promotion of family-centered care. Her greatest satisfaction in the position was witnessing the evolution of an idea into meaningful change in clinical practice. At CAPH, Megan developed an interest in a biopsychosocial approach to health. This, combined with a passion for nutrition and a respect for the importance and policy changing power of the work being done at the Rudd Center, led her to its doors.
